Sonic Extreme Chili Cheese Tots are a treat you are going to love to make at home. These loaded tater tots are delicious and so easy to make. They will be a great addition to your next game or movie night.

Who doesn’t love Sonic? After all, they are America’s Drive-In. They make so many delicious treats that you love. They make Ocean Water, delicious Onion Rings, and so many other great menu items. You can make many of these restaurant favorites at home.

Sonic Extreme Tots are tater tots that are loaded with chili, cheese, jalapenos slices, and so much more. These are a great change from nachos.
Loaded tater tots is one of my favorite comfort foods. Nothing soothes the soul like feasting on potatoes, chili, and cheese with a little jalapeno heat and some ranch to cool it down.
Recipe Ingredients
Here’s a list of what you need:
- Tater tots
- Hormel chili (no beans)
- Shredded Cheddar cheese
- Chopped white onions
- Pickled jalapeno slices
- Ranch salad dressing
Ingredient Notes and Tips
You can get tater tots at the grocery store or make homemade tater tots. Store-bought tater tots can be cooked in an oven, air fryer, or deep fryer.
If you have some leftover homemade chili, you may use that. If not, use a can of Hormel brand chili with no beans. Or with beans if you want them in the dish too.
You could add more toppings to this if desired. It is completely up to you.
How to Make Sonic Chili Cheese Tots
- Prepare the tater tots according to package directions.
- While the tater tots are cooking, heat the chili in a small pan over low heat.
- Place the cooked tater tots in a bowl or on a small plate.
- Top with chili, cheese, onions, and jalapeno slices.
- Drizzle ranch dressing over the top.
