Now, let’s get started with my spring house tour!
Today, we’ll start in the foyer where I added a few spring touches to welcome guests!
Simple Spring Home Decorating Ideas for the Foyer:
A foyer is a great place to add some fresh flowers for spring – or any season.
This year, I kept my colors simple with fresh green, yellow and white. In previous years, I’ve decorated with more color.
For some variation in height, I mixed in a few white candles. Then to play off the neutral colors of the seagrass basket and the stair runner, I used my burlap runner for the base.
For me, the foyer is a great place to add fresh flowers so I can keep an eye on them. If I’m walking past them all day, I’m more likely to remember to add water.
Simple Spring Vignette:
This year, I decided to dress up the seating area in our game room.
Our narrow console table behind the couch is a perfect place to add a spring vignette. For that spot, I continued with the green and white.
All the plants and flowers in here are artificial. Since we don’t use this room everyday, I might forget to water live flowers. You know…”out of sight, out of mind”. I’m not exactly known for my plant skills…
Spring Home Decorating Ideas for the Kitchen:
In the kitchen, I continued with the green, white and yellow but I also added some blue!
During the warmer months, blue feels so fresh, doesn’t it?
Actually, most of the time I decorate with blue in my kitchen. I just rotate the pieces around. If you also love blue, seehow I decorated for spring with blue and white…and pink!
Trays make a great base for vignettes. I keep this round tray on my kitchen island most of the time and change the accessories seasonally. If you want to see some other variations, check out my recent blog post –How to Decorate with Round Trays.
Since I had started with white tulips in the other rooms, I continued in the kitchen. Then I added some lemons for more touches of yellow. I really need to buy some artificial lemons, though. They don’t seem to last very long out of the refrigerator.

Speaking of lemons, I picked up the cute little lemon wreath the other day. It’s just the splash of color I needed on my stove mantel…
Yellow daffodils on the windowsill…and yes, more lemons.
Since our kitchen opens up to the family room, I kept the same color scheme in there…
Spring Home Decorating Ideas in the Family Room:
From the kitchen table, you can see all the blue and yellow in the family room…
When you have an open concept space, it just makes sense to continue with the same colors.
Of course, it helps that our family room rug is already blue. Each season, I also change the pillow covers to blue. It’s much easier to store pillow covers than a bunch of big puffy pillows.

Yes, I went a little lemon-crazy with my decor this year…but they are great accessories for the look I’m going for.
On my fireplace mantel, I replaced my black and white family photos for this colorful blue print. Normally, this artwork hangs in my bedroom but I decided to give it some new life on the mantel. The colors really brighten up my fireplace, don’t you think? Here aretwo more ways I’ve decorated my mantel for spring.
We’ll have to see how long those daffodils will strand straight… I have a feeling I might be going faux with those in the near future as well! For those of you who prefer faux daffodils, these look like a good option! Andthese look almost real!
