DIY Spring Decor Ideas, Wooden Bunny Sign

I wanted to add some art above our bed, so I decided to make my own DIY wooden bunny art! I picked up my wood panel from Hobby Lobby and then used some Dixie Belle paint in the color Apricot to paint the background. After that was dry, I decided to add a little whitewash to the sign to lighten up the apricot tone a bit.

I designed the bunny art/stencil in Adobe Illustrator, and then uploaded it into Cricut Design Space. I cut out the design on stencil vinyl and placed it on my wooden board. Then I painted in my stencil with the color Palace White by Jolie Paints. I love their paint for redoing furniture and I use it in craft projects too!

Once the paint was dry, I removed the stencil, did a few touch ups, and the added on a bow. I placed a half pearl in the center of the bow to finish it off.

What do you think about this DIY wooden bunny sign? I think it is so pretty and perfect for my Spring bedroom!

DIY Spring Decor Ideas, Gold Spring Rabbit

I’ve been seeing gold bunnies all over the place and I’m here for it! These bunnies from Hobby Lobby are so sweet and have the sweetest face, but they were blue so I pulled out my paint and gave them a little makeover.

I started by painting the bunnies solid with Waverly Chalk Paint in the color Mineral. Once that was good and dry, I used acrylic paint in the color Champagne Gold and lightly brushed it on all over the bunny.

After that was dry, I went back in the a Metallic Chocolate acrylic paint and highlighted all of the nooks and crannies on the rabbits. This really helped add some dimension back to them and keep them from looking so flat.

I added a sweet little bow (with this mauve ribbon) and a dried floral sprig to finish them off. I love how they turned out and they look so pretty sitting on our island! (You might see a couple of really small bunnies in a few pictures. I painted those in exactly the same way! You can purchase the little gold bunnies here.)

DIY French Inspired Topiary Planter

I love topiaries so when I came across this one, I snagged it! They are Thyme topiaries so they are sparse, light and airy, and they look so pretty with my decor. They came in a black plastic pot so I decided to work on some new planters for them.

I started by painting terra cotta pots with the Waverly Chalk Paint in the color Mineral. Once that was dry, I mixed Mineral with Putty (to lighten the color) and used a dry brush technique to add another layer of paint. This helps give the planter a little dimension and texture.

To embelish the planters, I pulled out one of my favorite stencils from A Maker’s Studio. I love these stencils so much! They are so simple to use and you can easily and quickly create home decor and gifts!

I used A Makers Studio Chalk Art in the color I Reckon to paint the design on my planters. Once they were dry, I sealed them with General Finishes Flat Out Flat Top Coat.

Once complete, I secured the Thyme topiaries into the planters by placing some packing peanuts around the outer edge and then I added some dried white beans to the top as filler.

They turned out so pretty and I think they look beautiful in our entryway!

DIY Bird Nest Envelope Pocket, Spring Craft Idea

I spotted this little metal envelope wall pocket in Hobby Lobby and decided to grab it and give it a quick makeover. It was half off so it was under $5.

The first thing I did was give it a light sanding to smooth out the painted word. Once that was smooth, I used Jolie paint in the color Eucalyptus to paint over the entire pocket.

When that was dry, I pulled out my Bird stencil sheet from A Maker’s studio and picked out a little bird that would fit on the front. I painted it on with Chalk Art in the color I Reckon. Once the paint was dry, I sealed the entire piece with General Finishes Flat Out Flat Top Coat.

Next, I added in some moss straw excelsior. Then I layered in a couple of feathers and topped them with three small eggs. I created a loop out of ribbon and secured it to the pocket to use for hanging.

I decided to hang this on a lamp, but you could use something like this in the center of a wreath, on a door handle, or center it in an empty frame and use it as wall decor.

This little project turned out so cute and it was so simple to do!

DIY Spring Decor Ideas, Fabric Bunny Art

I saw some little bunny prints at a local retailer recently and I thought I could make something similar that would go better with my french cottage farmhouse style!

So I started by painting a wooden panel. Initially I painted it in a mix of Mineral and Putty Waverly Chalk Paint, but I ended up going back and painting it in the color Linen by Jolie Paint. Once that was dry, I took some 120 grit sandpaper and gently sanded around the outer edge of the wood giving it a subtle distressed finish.

After that I was ready to make my art. I decided to use the rabbit stamp I have from Iron Orchid Designs and stamp it onto my light pink fabric with my Copper Gel Art Ink from A Maker’s Studio. I liked the copper look, but when I went to style it, I decided to restamp by bunny using the color Hold Your Horses, which is a dark grey!

Once I had finalized my rabbit print, I used upholstery tacks to pin my fabric onto the wood panel.

This is such a cute little Spring accent! Little signs like this looks so cute styled in Spring vignettes, on tiered trays, or layered on bookshelves.

DIY Dried Hydrangea Art, Spring Wall Art

I’m really into dried florals lately. I love them and want to put them everywhere! Last fall I collected some dried hydrangeas and I decided to use one of those to make a piece of art to hang below our vent hood.

The reclaimed wood frame is from Weathered Wood Home . She only restocks her handmade wood frames every so often so make sure to follow her on Instagram if you want to know when the next restock is.

After I took the backing out of the frame, I used it as a template to cut out a piece of cardboard. I painted the piece of cardboard white since my muslin fabric was a little bit shear.

To cover the cardboard, I simply took my muslin fabric and folded it around the cardboard and then secured it down with hot glue. I put a few small dabs of hot glue on the dried Hydrangea stem to secure it to the fabric.

Then I added a bow and secured it to the stem with a dab of hot glue. I also tacked the ribbon tails to the fabric with a very small amount of hot glue. Didn’t this turn out so pretty?! I really do love this DIY dried hydrangea art and think it is the perfect touch to our kitchen this Spring.

DIY Spring Decor Ideas, Dried Floral Art in Brass Frames

I’m really loving dried florals right now! I think they work so well since Spring is just starting to show up but it hasn’t been around long enough to enjoy fresh blooms!

These brass frames to put on the shelves I have across from the kitchen, knowing dried florals would be perfect in them.

I had some dried hydrangea blooms and stems left over from earlier in the year, and I also purchased a few packets of dried flowers and greens from Etsy.

Once I had all of my supplies, it was as easy as laying the flowers and stems on the glass and arranging them to my liking! This floral art was so simple and I think they are so pretty!
